When it rains, it pours

Hi! No, it's not rainy season in Thailand yet, although that definitely applies to the rainy season here, I'm referring to all of the amazing things God did this past week. It's very exciting to be able to share all of this with you!

1) Jan, my student whom you all have been praying for since Christmas, told me she met some Korean friends from the camp she went to and she continued to go visit them at church. While I was at the wedding of her older cousin, she told Arm and I she had accepted Christ. While I'm ecstatic, I also know this is a time for even MORE prayer for her. She has not told her parents yet (which is fairly normal in Thailand. She's only been a Christian for 3 days) and there are several people in her family who are A) half Christian half Buddhist or B) her dad was Christan and went back to Buddhism. Also, I'm not sure how many encouraging people she has in her life. Therefore, we need to praise God for her decision and desperately keep in contact with her and keep her in our prayers for this is when Satan will attack.

2) Arm's mom (my future mother-in-law) came to visit today and she stayed in church for some of the songs! Currently, Arm is the only one who is a Christian, but his mom and his sister know that when they pray to God He helps them. She truely enjoyed the singing today and said she felt peace there. She asked me if she could continue praying to God and still be Buddhist. I said yes and then paused and said everyone at church believes we need to love only God. It is very normal for Buddhists who are not Christian to pray to God and God continually answers them. Many people after they become Christian say it was when they were trying out Christianity to see if it was real. Praise God for all the ways He works! Just pray for Arm's mom as I don't know her name.

3) Arm has been giving the security guard of his small housing development some Christian books to read while he's working (boring job) as well as we've been talking with him and exchanging small presents such as food, etc. He came to the Christmas party and we were encouraged when he came back to church today :D. He was only wearing jeans, a big t-shirt and a windbreaker and he apologized for his clothes, but everyone told him it was no big deal and we were happy he came. It was so nice to see him come!!!! Please continue to pray for him! We only call him "mister", so I can't give you his name. Sounds strange in English, but is perfectly normal in Thailand.

4) Arm and I have started giving one of the security guards in my apartment Christian books to read. Actually, we've given him one, Heavenly Man. If you haven't read it, I highly suggest you should! It's in Thai and English and it's a true story about an amazing Chinese man of God who has now fled to somewhere in Europe. There is one point where God led him out of a Chinese maximum security prison! He included pictures of the prison in his book and it's truely a miracle of God and will challenge your thinking in so many ways! Please pray for uncle. Once again, we don't know his name and this is what all Thai people call him. Even if we asked his name, we would still call him uncle after that.

I ask you that we pray for all of these people as God is working mightily. I wish I could give you the names of the 2 security guards and Arm's mom, but I don't know their names. We call them mom, mister, and uncle because that's Thai culture. Thank you for all of your prayers and support. God is hearing them and working mightily. May God bless you!
