Praise God!

Today (Sunday) was a big day! First, one of my students came to church! Her name is Jan. She came to the Christmas program last week and she told me she was coming to church this Sunday and she came :D. She was asking me a lot of questions about Christianity and she also talked with 3 of my Thai friends about Christianity. She also asked for a Bible, but we didn't have any at church. She said she will come back next week as well. She hit it off with a couple girls at church too and some of them are still Humanities students at Kasetsart University. Please pray for her. Right now she is curious and I pray it will stay. Today she had a small fight with her mom about coming to church because her mom didn't believe she was coming with me. There are a lot of things that can keep them from coming to church, etc. here. Please pray God will guard her heart and prevent the seed from being snatched away.

Today was also Arm's first time sharing at church and he did a great job! He shared and encouraged everyone to reflect over the past year and pray about a plan for this next year whether it be how to enhance your prayer life, evangelism, etc. He was really nervous, but he did a great job and everyone is looking forward to the next time for him to share.

Just for fun, I added some more pictures from my trip with Arm to the beach :D. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Merry CHRISTmas!

Well! Things have been busy around here. Thank you for your prayers for the Christmas play! Three of my students came, but only 1 of them was able to stay the whole time. The other two only came for a little while before they had to go take a test. However, they played games and they came, which shows a huge step! To play the games, they had to answer questions about Christmas and my students remembered what I said about Jesus! Praise God! The girl who came and was able to stay also got to meet some of my Thai friends and even got one of their phone numbers and MSN e-mail addresses so they can chat (very big in Thailand). Thank You God! Also, a security guard Arm and I talk with often came as well, along with many many other people. Here's a picture of some of my church friends and I after the play.

For Christmas Eve, Arm and I decided to take a relaxing day at the beach, so we hopped in a van in the morning and came back around 7pm. This sunset was amazing! I felt like I was in a shower of God showing His glory! I am standing alone in the picture. I love it!

This is an example of some of the Christmas decorations they have in Bangkok. Everything is really decked out, but there's no nativity scene anywhere to be seen. I'm so thankful my parents brought me 2 this past October. It truly felt like a vaccum without them.

And lastly, a little bit of Christmas in my apartment. It's not quite like America, but it is still fun. :D

Thank you all for your prayers and e-mails. I really appreciate them. I wish you all a blessed Christmas and pray God will show you more about Himself in the coming year. Merry CHRISTmas!

Christmas time is here!!!

Hello to everyone! Christmas time is here! It is nice being in Bangkok with all of the Christmas lights around. However, this year I have 2 of my own nativity sets thanks to my parents. They brought them this past October because last year there was NO signs of Jesus anywhere except at my church's Christmas play. It was a strange Santa Claus vaccum and I realized how important Jesus is to Christmas. Without Jesus, it's just an excuse to give presents.

This year, girls in my office and I decorated our office for Christmas. I took one of the nativity sets and put it up in my office. Jesus is a part of Christmas in our office too. I also took "Merry Christmas Charlie Brown" and showed it to my 2 Listening and Speaking classes. We talked about the meaning of Christmas and I was able to share the real meaning of Christmas. Then, in the movie, it shares about Christmas too and reads Scripture. I had Thai subtitles on so they got a chance to read about it as well. I pray that God will use it for His glory. Praise God for small ways I can bring Him into my classrooms. One of the teachers in my office wanted a break one day, so I let her watch the movie as well.

Please be praying for this Sunday. My church is having it's big Christmas outreach. We're inviting everyone. I've invited 3 teachers who I have built relationships with and I'll be inviting all of my students on Thursday and Friday. We're making cookies, buying presents for give-a-ways/prizes for games, and putting on a Christmas play about Mary and Joseph in Thai. Everyone has worked really hard and the church looks amazing with all the decorations! I will take pictures to show everyone!

May we all remember the true reason for Christmas.
